Monsoon Magic: Perfect Snacks to Enjoy from MM Mithaiwala During the Rainy Season

Monsoon Magic: Perfect Snacks to Enjoy from MM Mithaiwala During the Rainy Season

In Mumbai, the monsoon season is a special feeling. After an extreme hot summer, this is when the rain starts. It’s time to sit back and take advantage of the cooler weather. However, the monsoon season has always brought old memories back. Monsoon in Mumbai is always a special time. The rains bring the city to life, and there is something about the weather that just makes everything feel more magical.

Picture this – Taking a break from life, lying back on the couch. Rain sound that excites you with the rain drops on the windows and the earthy smell out from the garden. Just a wow feeling to experience. Mumbaikars never waited for something ever more than they wait for this season to come up.

As we are talking about the Monsoon how will the snack stay back. Monsoon in Mumbai and snacks with “garam chai” come hand in hand. So come let’s see what these snacks have to tell us this monsoon.

Who doesn’t enjoy rainy-season, spicy, crunchy, and tasty snacks to munch on while cooked at home? This explains why the most popular and preferred combo in the nation is pakodas with spicy hot milk tea or masala tea. Yes, that’s also typically my top choice. because it takes less time to prepare and is incredibly satisfying to the senses. Just like mithai, pakodas have become an essential and inseparable part of our culture. My favorite is Moong Dal Pakodas because of its distinct texture and nutty flavor. On the other hand, onion pakodas are incredibly tasty and simple to prepare. This hot snack pairs beautifully with mint chutney. Because it has a sweet element, cardamom milk tea is my preference.

How am I not thinking of Samosas when I think of monsoon snacks? In India, samosas are the most widely accessible food due to their low cost. Rainy evenings and steaming hot samosas are a match made in heaven. Its flavour is enhanced with sweet tamarind chutney. And the reason this snack comes to mind is that it can be found in any nearby “tapri”. Eating the crust of a samosa with soft, heated mashed potato coated in spices and coriander leaves is a joy that is enhanced by puncturing the outer shell and indulging in its aromatic fragrance.

The next snack that comes in mind is Vada Pav. Ahah, the joy of monsoon and vada pav the second match made in heaven! Imagine biting into a soft, fluffy bun, crispy golden vada inside. The rain tapping on your umbrella as you relive the spicy kick of the potato filling, wrapped in the tangy chutneys. It’s a simple pleasure, yet so-so-satisfying, as you cozy up under the grey sky, savoring each delicious bite. In the midst of the rain’s symphony, vada pav becomes more than just a snack—it’s a culinary delight that perfectly complements the magic of the monsoon season.

No one really talks about the legend who compliments every monsoon snack and is the real hero. Close your eyes and imagine the comforting aroma of adrak ki chai blending with the earthy smell of the rain. Holding a steaming cup of chai in your hands and allowing the comforting warmth to sync into your very being with each sip. Adrak ki chai transforms into more than just a drink in the monsoon. It’s a peaceful time, a break from the daily hectic life, and a soothing pleasure to be enjoyed amid the symphony of nature.

Conclusion

Monsoon got us going through the vast feelings of memories some build and some in the hope. Every Mumbaikar has that one corner which stays unsaid and comes out during monsoon. As the season will come to a new start, we come out feeling renewed and re-energize, remembering warm, comfortable times spent inside enjoying delectable food from MM Mithaiwala and the calming patter of raindrops as our background music.
